Wakana is a Hyakunin-isshu (collection of 100 songs by famous old poets written on cards) loving college girl. One day, she receives a mysterious invitation to come to room 101 from Kasuga-sensei, a professor she admires. There, she discovers that the room is a secret gathering place for a Kasuga hand-picked group called the "Tokujyo Karuta". Suddenly, she discovers that she has been asked to become a member of the competitive karuta team. A happy love story that takes place in a unique world of grace and poetry begins to unfold...
